Many bacteria (such as iron bacteria) thrive in the gravel pack, on the screens, and within the well casing, drop pipe and pump.  Without treating the source, effective well treatment cannot be achieved.  In the past, continuously injecting a chemical down the well casing came with potential hazards of overdosing caused by siphonage.  Pellet feeders solved the chemical siphonage problem at a cost of mechanical breakdown (stripped gears), shotgun dosing, tube plugging, corrosion, and expensive chemicals.

I-chlor Chlorine Generator Well Site Set-up

Today we have solved all these problems with our new i-chlor chlorination system.  The i-chlor chlorination is a mixed oxidant chlorine generator which makes chlorine from ordinary water softener salt and can be used at the well head to accurately inject chlorine down the well without the hazards of overdosing.  Since chlorine is made and immediately injected, there is no excess chemical to siphon into the well when the well turns off (and no chlorine is made).  Dosage is controlled electronically which provides a very accurate and constant chlorine output.  For most residential applications, our i-chlor Model 0.2 will provide a years worth of chlorination for the costs of about 6 lbs of salt operating with less energy than a 40 watt light bulb.  Download Model 0.2 specification for more information.

There are no comparisons with other systems such as a pellet chlorinator in terms of chemical costs, dosage controllability, and oxidation power.  In operating i-chlor, you’ll discover that the on-site chlorine generator is much more simple and reliable to operate with more than 7000 percent chemical costs savings.   If you are looking for that edge to provide additional service to your clients with reduced cost to your operating expense, you must give the i-chlor system a try.
