From Salt to Chlorine... the choice that shows intelligence with responsibility

The i-chlor chlorine generator makes chlorine gas from ordinary salt (sodium chloride). The salt mixes with water to make a brine solution. An electric current is then passed through the brine solution within a cell to make chlorine.  This the basic process from which all chlorine is made in the world. Use the chlorine for your swimming pool, laundry, municipal or home well, waste treatment facility, feedlot stock tank, dairy process, poultry process, brewery, cooling tower, recycled wash water, and reflection pond.  The uses are endless!

Chlorine Generator Process

Here's how it works!

  • A bag of water softener salt and water is added to a brine tank which is connected to a cell.  When chlorine is needed, the power supply is turned on to the cell.
  • The current from the power supply separates the chloride from the sodium making chlorine.
  • The chlorine bubbles up from the cell to the brine tank where the gas is then injected into the process water.
  • If more chlorine is needed, more power is applied to the power supply (and to decrease chlorine output, just reduce the cell amperage).
  • When no more chlorine is needed, the power to the cell is stopped and chlorine production also stops.

Here's why you'll choose the i-chlor system!

  • The safest chlorination system available.  Since chlorine is generated and used only when needed at its point of use, there is no storage or transportation of potentially dangerous chlorine.
  • Low capital cost.  The capital cost is much lower than typical chlorine gas systems, and comparable to bleach systems.  Other onsite chlorine generator systems are several times more costly.
  • Low production cost.  The i-chlor system produces chlorine costing 300 percent less than chlorine gas, and 700 percent less that chlorine bleach.  One $5 bag of water softener salt will make enough chlorine equal to more than 60 gallons of typical household bleach.
  • Simple operation.  There are no moving parts and only minor maintenance requirements.  Chlorine output is managed by the electrical power supply amperage setting.  To increase chlorine output, turn up the power supply amperage.  To reduce chlorine, simply turn down power supply amperage.
  • Constant chlorine output.  Hypochlorite solutions weaken (decompose) with time and temperature.  The amount of chlorine available in the salt remains constant regardless of the storage time and temperature.
  • Reduced disinfection byproducts.  Sodium hypochlorite solutions contain the byproduct chlorate.  Chlorate concentrations increase in the sodium hypochlorite solution with the duration of solution storage.
  • Sodium hydroxide production.  The byproduct of the i-chlor process is sodium hydroxide.  Sodium hydroxide is a beneficial chemical used for corrosion control, cleaning drains, and making soap.  A $5 bag of water softener salt produces more than $65 worth of sodium hydroxide.
  • Green Technology.  One bag of salt replaces more than 60 plastic bleach containers in the landfill.  Twenty 50 lb bags of salt, which can easily be transported in any pickup truck, are equal to 30 drums of 5.25 percent commercial bleach.  With i-chlor ’s less volume and less storage space needs, the quantity and capacity of product replacement trips are significantly reduced when compared to bleach

Our business is to provide you with the tools to make your own chlorine from ordinary salt (sodium chloride).   Here is a little more on what the chlorine gas generator is about:

  • The concept is simple... with the equipment we provide you, you will now be able to produce your own chlorine from ordinary water softener salt.  Use the chlorine for your swimming pool, laundry, municipal or home well, waste treatment facility, feedlot stock tank, dairy process, brewery, cooling tower, recycled wash water, and reflection pond.  The uses are endless!
  • The process is simple... add salt and water to the cell, connect a battery charger to the cell, and then use the chlorine gas for your needs.  The more DC current you apply, the more chlorine gas is produced.  There is no simpler chlorinator system.
  • What we are not... we are not a sodium hypochlorite (bleach) generator that makes 2/3 saltwater with 1/3 bleach from companies like Miox, Clortec by Severn Trent Services (also Capital Controls chlorinators,Seaclor and Sanilec hypochlorite generators), OSEC by Wallace and Tiernan, Electrichlor, AquaChlor, Chlor Generator, Chloropac, Clorocel, Portacel, ElectroCell, Pacpuri, Dip Cell, Pureate, Hypo-Gen(R), Hlorogen... the list goes on and on.
  • Furthermore, we are not a saltwater chlorinator where you add tons of salt to your swimming pool water, corrode the pool light fixture, and zap the very water you are swimming in with electricity.  Perhaps you are familiar with system like Aqua Rite, Clearwater, Aquajoy, Dragonizer, PoolPower, Watermaid, Autoclor, Clormatic, Kreepy-Krauly...

  • Our system produces chlorine gas that is vacuumed out of the cell into a stream of water that carries the concentrated chlorine solution to your application.  All of the convenience and advantages of a pure chlorine gas feed system, without the storage hazards and worries.

We invite you to stay and learn more about our chlorine gas generator system and what we have to offer.

Safety...
no chemical transportation or chemical storage.  Chlorine Generation on Demand.

Savings...
a 50-lb bag of salt costing only $5 will produce 30 lbs of chlorine gas (or 30 gallons of 12.5% bleach).  When compared to bleach, this is a 700 percent cost savings in chemical costs.

Reliability ...
it's as simple as a battery.  There are no moving parts!

Green Technology...
With less chemical replacement trips and less storage space requirements, considerable energy savings can be realized.  One plastic bag of salt replaces over 60 plastic jugs in the landfill.
